com.proactive.dids)This Privacy Policy explains how DIDS PRO ("DIDS PRO", "the app", "we", "us") handles information when it is installed on a tablet, Android TV, display box, or other public-display device. The app is operated by an organization that configures its own DIDS server and display panel (the "display operator").
Before publishing this policy, ProActive must confirm that [email protected] is an active, monitored privacy contact address. Replace it with the correct contact address if necessary.
DIDS PRO presents public information, media, services, notices, forms, and optional queue-management content configured by a display operator. It can work offline using a locally cached display pack. It can also use text-to-speech, print selected queue receipts to a connected USB printer, and provide protected diagnostic controls for administrators.
The app stores the selected DIDS server address, panel ID, and local appearance preference on the device. It uses the panel ID to request the content assigned to that display. The selected DIDS server receives the panel ID and ordinary network connection information, such as the device's IP address, when the app checks connectivity, downloads content, synchronizes assets, or submits an operator- or visitor-initiated request.
The app downloads and stores display content locally so that the display can continue to operate without an internet connection. This may include public organization information, images, videos, audio, documents, services, notices, and other content selected by the display operator.
Depending on the display operator's configuration, the app can display or print queue information and can submit form responses to the selected DIDS server. This information may include a token number, service selection, visitor name, contact details, or other information entered by a visitor or staff member. The app sends such information to the selected DIDS server only to provide the requested queue or form service. It does not create visitor accounts and does not keep an offline queue of submitted forms.
The display operator is responsible for deciding what information appears on a public screen, for configuring the retention of information held by its DIDS server, and for providing any additional notices required for its services.
Protected Diagnostics can show application version, server and redacted panel configuration, synchronization status, local content-cache size, device model, Android version, device capability information, and recent physical input events. Recent physical input events remain in memory for the current app session only.
A support report is created and copied to the device clipboard only when an administrator explicitly selects Export report. The app does not automatically upload diagnostic reports to ProActive or to the display operator.
When an authorized user requests printing, relevant queue or receipt content is sent to the connected USB printer. The app does not send the receipt to a third-party printing service.
When speech is enabled, the app passes announcement text to the Android text-to-speech engine configured on the device. The app does not record audio. The chosen speech engine, device manufacturer, or voice-data provider may have its own privacy practices; review that provider's policy before enabling a cloud-backed voice.
If a display operator configures YouTube content, the app's embedded player connects to YouTube. Google and YouTube may process data under their own terms and privacy policies. The display operator controls whether YouTube content is used.
DIDS PRO does not collect or use location, camera, microphone, contacts, SMS, call logs, photos, advertising ID, IMEI, IMSI, SIM serial number, or an inventory of installed applications. It does not include advertising, sell personal data, or use personal data for behavioural advertising. The current app build does not include analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
The server address, panel ID, and appearance preference remain on the device until an administrator changes or clears the device configuration, or until the app's data is cleared or the app is uninstalled. Cached display content remains until it is replaced by a newer synchronized pack or the app's data is cleared or removed. Administrators can remove superseded cached update files from the protected maintenance controls; the active offline pack is kept so the display continues to work.
Queue, form, and server-side content retention is controlled by the display operator and its DIDS server, not by this app. To request correction, deletion, or information about data held by an organization using a DIDS PRO, contact that organization directly. To ask ProActive about this app's privacy practices, use the privacy contact above.
The app shares information only as needed to provide the configured service:
Google Play may process information needed to distribute the app and deliver updates under Google's own policies. We do not sell personal information.
We use reasonable technical measures intended to protect locally stored configuration and display content. Production DIDS servers should use HTTPS. Some legacy local-network deployments may use HTTP at the display operator's choice; those deployments should not expose the display server to the public internet and should be migrated to HTTPS where practical.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Display operators should use strong device-management controls, restrict administrator access, and avoid publishing personal or sensitive information on public displays.
DIDS PRO is a public-information and operational display application. It does not create accounts for children or knowingly collect personal information from children. A display operator that uses a form or queue feature involving children is responsible for obtaining any required notices or consent.
We may update this policy when the app, its data practices, or applicable law changes. We will post the revised policy at the published policy URL and update the effective date.
